“Height” is a porcelain figurine of a welder, created by the porcelain sculptor Yuri Lvov (1936-2010), approximately in the early 1960s. This was his thesis at the Saratov Art School, which the author defended with excellent marks in 1961.
The statuette is made in the genre of socialist realism and is designed to reflect the theme of a woman doing hard and harmful work (in this case, a welder). The main material of the figurine is ceramics, porcelain covered with painted glaze. It should be noted that almost all the statuettes of Yuri Lvov were painted by his wife Nadezhda Isakova.
The figurine was made at the Pervomaisky Porcelain Factory in Pesochnoe, where the sculptor worked for a long time. It was at this plant that all his works were mass-produced. Yuri Mikhailovich actively participated in international exhibitions, thanks to which his works became known in England, France, Denmark, Norway, India, Canada and other countries where the sculptor exhibited his works.
